CBS Television City – the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino

Watch and rate new television shows. To do research for their new shows, CBS and Viacom have set up a research center to gauge audience reactions. Shows from CBS, MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon, UPN, Showtime, TNN and CMT are screened in small theaters. Audience members use touch-screen computers to record their responses. Some particpants are also selected for longer focus group discussions.

A animatronic, laser light and water show with a western pioneer theme. The show takes place in Mystic Falls park, an indoor forest with a glass ceiling ten stories high. The lasers and fountains are choreographed to a symphonic score which is heard from over 100 hidden speakers.

Thunderstorm – at the Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino

Experience a thunderstorm while indoors. Thanks to the magic of technology, you can observe the elements of a severe storm without the discomfort and fear that accompanies this harsh weather occurrence. Witness a course of atmospheric changes that includes eerie fog, torrential rain, claps of thunder and flashes of lightning. Tuesday Afternoon at the Bijou – Clark County Library

Free movies at area libraries. In addition to ‘Tuesday Afternoon at the Bijou’ with circa 1930’s and ’40’s hit movies, the Las Vegas Clark County Library District gives us ‘Saturday Movie Matinee’ and the ‘Sunday Movie Matinee’ All ages are welcome to come and enjoy a free screening of a Hollywood hit. Underwater Fish Feeding Show – Silverton Hotel Las Vegas

Named the “Best Free Attraction” in Las Vegas, Silverton Casino’s saltwater aquarium is large and impressive. Our signature 117,000-gallon reef aquarium will transport you to a tropical oasis where you can admire more than 4,000 tropical fish, and three species each of stingrays and sharks. Interactive feeding shows are scheduled daily at 1:30pm and 4:30pm. The staff marine biologist at our Las Vegas hotel is equipped with a full-face communication mask and answers guests’ questions during the feeding show. Also, don’t miss the live mermaid swim! Mermaid swims are scheduled Thursday from 2:15pm – 8:45pm, Friday and Saturday from 2:15pm – 9:45pm and Sunday from 11:30am – 6:45pm. In addition, the Mermaid Lounge features two 500-gallon jellyfish aquariums lit with LED lights.
